Pontardulais Town Band will be hosting a free Open Day & Workshop for both aspiring and experienced musicians.
The event on Saturday September 21st is being funded Ty Cerdd and the Austin Bailey Foundation and is aimed at attracting aspiring young brass players to come and try out instruments, talk to tutors and band members and find out about joining a new 'Beginner Band' in September.
Fun activities
There will be various fun activities and events throughout the day as well as free goody bags to the first 30 youngsters who attend.
The band will also be running a free workshop for experienced local youth players (Grade 3 up) in association with 'Create!' a music education initiative led by Christopher Bond.
It will feature masterclass with a guest professional player as well as a series of full band rehearsals, sectionals and a short performance at the end of the day.

We had a fantastic couple of days with 'Create!' last year, both days were fully booked and those who participated were very keen for a repeat performance.
