4BR has been informed of the death of Frank Dean, the much respected supporter of Black Dyke Band and the author of the affectionate booklet publication 'The Magic of Black Dyke' which was first published in 1980. He died on 4th of August.
As a youngster in Pateley Bridge he was told stories of the legendary Queensbury band by former player called Frank Watson. When he moved to Leeds in 1961 he became a staunch 'Pondasher' and one of Black Dyke's most loyal fans and supporters.

He said in his booklet that he thanked Black Dyke "for allowing me the involvement I have so richly enjoyed".
Many people who met him and enjoyed his company over many years will say the same about him too.
The funeral service will be held at St Cuthbert's Church, Pateley Bridge, Near Harrogate on Friday 16th August at 3.30pm.
