It is being reported from a variety of different music media sources that Bramwell Tovey has made a return to the conducting podium following his treatment for cancer.
The welcome news was also confirmed on his own Twitter feed account, one where he has also been praising the free cost excellence of the Canadian Health Care system — stating that he was conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the iconic Hollywood Bowl on the weekend.
Audience favourite
Tovey has been an audience favourite at the venue with the orchestra for well over a decade, with one critic once saying that he had the ability "to give a freshly minted polish to everything he conducts".
It is now hoped that the 66 year old will also make his long overdue Proms appearance with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall later this month (31st August) with music from Ravel, Debussy, Wagner and Ireland.
