Black Dyke will make their bi-annual trip to Bridgwater in Somerset on 18th August (2.30pm) for a concert that will see them help Bridgwater Operatic Society in their building project appeal.
The band will perform in the magnificent setting of the newly refurbished St. Mary's Church in Bridgwater, under Director of Music Prof Nicholas Childs, with a sell out audience expected.
Firm favourite
A spokesperson told 4BR: "This event has become a firm favourite with a wide ranging audience both locally and nationally. It's always a very popular event and with a couple of weeks to go over 80% of the tickets have already been sold.
However, this year, given our drive to improve facilities at the society's headquarters and rehearsal space, the band's appearance is even more welcome."
Worthwhile appeal
In response, Prof Childs added: "We're always pleased to visit Bridgwater where we receive such a very special welcome particularly as on this occasion we help the society with such a worthwhile appeal to upgrade their headquarters.
It also offers us the ideal opportunity to get back into the swing of intense rehearsals ahead of the British Open, so the band will be eager to impress!"
