Duguid to take mentor role at Abbey Brass (Abingdon)

The experience of conductor Alan Duguid will be used to good effect with a new connection with Abbey Brass (Abingdon).

Abbey Brass (Abingdon) has announced that the experienced conductor Alan Duguid has agreed to take on the role of mentor to the band's Principal Conductor Rob Tompkins.

Alan will visit the band in Abingdon Oxfordshire on four occasions each year to assist the band in their preparations for the Area Championship and to guide them with their ongoing development.

Delighted

Rob Tompkins told 4BR: "I'm delighted that Alan has agreed to take on this role. With these visits and our annual link to Philip Harper each year I feel that both the band and I will have everything we need to continue the improvements we have been making over recent years."

Alan who will be making his first visit to Abingdon in October and said: "I'm delighted to help out and am looking forward to working with Rob and the band".
