The Enderby Band organisation has announced the return of their Youth Brass Band Training weekend
The Enderby Youth and Junior Bands will host the training initiative at Lutterworth College on Saturday 21st & 22nd September. Each day will begin at 9.15am and finish around 5.00pm.
Tutors
Michael Fowles will lead the music making alongside a team of experienced tutors, including James Screaton (cornets), Matt Rowe (euphoniums and baritones), Ryan Richards (trombones), Simon Gresswell (tubas) and Alli Smith (percussion).
There will be a mixture of full band rehearsals and sectionals, with regular breaks to enable the players to socialise. The course will conclude with a play through of the music learned by both bands on Sunday afternoon to which parents and friends are warmly invited.
Varied repertoire
A varied repertoire of music will be rehearsed for both bands, ranging from a test piece through to light concert music.
Participants in the course will be divided into two bands — a Junior Band for players from beginner standard up to Grade 2 standard, and a Main Band for players of Grade 3 standard and above.
Members of the Enderby Band organisation will be on hand to provide pastoral support to the youngsters throughout the two days.
Further information
The cost of the whole weekend is £30. Applications for a place on the weekend can be made via the Enderby Band website: www.enderbybands.co.uk
