4BR has been informed that the musical partnership between Alan Duguid and the Aveley & Newham Band has come to an end.

Speaking to 4BR, Alan said: "I would like to publicly thank the band, especially as this was a very difficult decision to make after three very enjoyable years.

Sadly increased work demands have made it impossible to give the band the time it requires to carry on the progress we have made together."

Success

Under the Scotsman's baton the London & Southern Counties band won the scaba Spring Contest in 2018 as well as coming runner-up at the 2017 Spring Festival Senior Trophy.

They claimed a top-six finish at the Area contest in 2019, but were relegated from the Senior Cup in May this year.

He added: "They have been a wonderful group to work with and I am extremely thankful for all of their hard work and commitment."
