Gramercy Brass Band Camp will celebrate a significant anniversary in August as it hosts its 15th anniversary Festival Weekend just outside Manhattan.
Founded by John Henry Lambert, the Musical Director of the renowned of the Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, it's aimed at providing a stimulating weekend of musical development for advanced students and adult brass and percussion players.
Launched in 2005 the Band Camp has gained critical acclaim for its approach — one that builds on its reputation as one of the nation's finest brass ensembles.
Fast paced
A spokesperson told 4BR: "We offer an exciting, fast paced three day musical experience which leads to a spectacular concert on the Sunday.
The aim is to provide advanced players with the opportunity to work closely with members of the Gramercy Brass Orchestra as well as our guest artists Dr. Tom McCauley (Conductor and Director of Bands at Montclair State University); Prof. Wayne du Maine (trumpet soloist and Head of Brass at NYU Steinhardt); Prof. Philip Broome(euphonium soloist at West Point Academy Band and Euphonium Faculty MSU); Prof. Mike Fahie (Jazz Trombone Faculty at New England Conservatory of Music; Prof. Max Morden (Trumpet & Brass Coordinator at Caldwell University) and Rob Fournier (freelance musician/educator and low brass specialist)."

The Camp begins on Friday August 9th with a an opening full rehearsal and concludes Sunday afternoon August 11th, with a Brass Spectacular performance
