Flowers MD Paul Holland will go Dutch later this year with the news that he will lead Brass Band Schoonhoven at the Netherlands National Championship in Utrecht.
Delighted
Schoonhoven MD Robbert Vos told 4BR that the former champion was delighted to welcome him as they seek to regain the title they last won in 2016.
"We have been enjoying a very solid period of progress, but we felt it would be good to link up with such a respected conductor to take us to the National Championship. We are looking forward working together with him on the set-work, 'Vienna Nights'.
It's a real honour to be asked to take the band to such an important contest. They are a band with an enviable reputation for excellence and are determined to regain the National titlePaul Holland.
Honour
Speaking to 4BR, Paul said: "It's a real honour to be asked to take the band to such an important contest. They are a band with an enviable reputation for excellence and are determined to regain the National title.
I'm really looking forward to working hard with them on a great piece."
Brass Band Schoonhoven recently gained a remarkable maximum 200 points at the recent Survento Brass competition, with Robbert Vos adding. "That was a great boost as we will be showcasing that programme under my baton at Brass in Concert later this year.
It will be good though to return to the euphonium bench for the Nationals before we head to Gateshead to round off a busy second half of the year for the band."
