Jail time connection comes with huge benefits for Bodmin

An inventive partnership link with one of Cornwall's leading tourist attractions is boosting the future prospects of Bodmin Town Band.

Bodmin
The inventive partnership is seen as having huge benefits for both organisations

Bodmin Band is certainly enjoying the benefits of 'jail time' as the continued sponsorship they receive from the leading Cornish tourist attraction helps them to invest in their future.

Attraction

A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "At a time when so many bands are struggling to keep going due to lack of funding we have been fortunate to purchase a trailer that has been designed with added artwork to each side in time for the summer season of engagements.

We will now have the trailer with us at each event enhancing the name of Bodmin Jail, along with information available of events occurring at the attraction."

Inventive link

As part of the inventive link, Bodmin Band performs on a regular basis at the venue at planned events helping advertise the attraction to an ever growing audience — one that now includes a major refurbishment that will create a high quality hotel complex within the jail buildings.

Bodmin Jail was built in 1779 — and although it gained a grisly reputation it also housed the Domesday Book and the Crown Jewels for safekeeping during the First World War and is reported to be one of the UKs most haunted buildings. It's also been seen on the television in the popular Poldark series.

We're delighted to continue our sponsorship of Bodmin Town Band and are looking forward to working closely with them into the futureBodmin Jail Events Manager, Laura Harwood

Massive support

Bodmin Jail Events Manager Laura Harwood told 4BR: "We're delighted to continue our sponsorship of Bodmin Town Band and are looking forward to working closely with them into the future."

In response Band Manager, Kev Moore said: "This massive support is greatly appreciated by the band. It also helps to support our future ambitions with some extra financial security as the band and the attraction form an important part of the Town's heritage.

We would also like to thank ARB Signs for the excellent support supplying and fitting the artwork."
