The National Association of Brass Band Conductors (NABBC) has announced that there has been a change in the adjudication panel for their forthcoming competition.
Due to an unforeseen medical issue Bramwell Tovey has unfortunately had to cancel his trip to the UK. His place on the panel has been taken by Mark Heron, Head of Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Mr Tovey has extended an invite to the six finalists to spend time with him either at the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain or the BBC Concert Orchestra when he is next in the UK.
Generous offer
A NCBBC spokesperson told 4BR: "We all wish Mr Tovey a speedy return to good health and we are delighted that he has made such a generous offer to the finalists. We would like to thank Mark Heron for stepping in at late notice.
Mark has a fantastic reputation as a conductor and educator and has been on our adjudication panel for the last two years."
The competition takes place on 8th June.
