Kidlington Concert Brass recently spent an enjoyable Easter weekend in Scotland entertaining many new friends in Edinburgh and Falkirk. This was the second tour north of Hadrian's Wall the band has undertaken, following a highly successful visit in 2013.
Social time
Easter Thursday was spent travelling up from their Oxfordshire base, followed by some well-earned social time and sightseeing in the Scottish capital, whilst Good Friday saw the band entertain hundreds of visitors to the beautiful Victorian Palm House at Edinburgh's Royal Botanic gardens.
The band was also delighted that they were welcomed by almost tropical weather, with jackets and sweaters giving way to sunglasses and sun tan lotion!
Easter Saturday included a short trip to Newtongrange to give a concert as guests of the National Mining Museum before a final concert was given in Falkirk, where they played to the visitors at the Falkirk Wheel, Scottish Canals' biggest tourist attraction.
Wonderful trip
Kidlington Professional MD Duncan Wilson told 4BR: "We've had a wonderful trip. It's often easy to get bogged down in contest work, so it's a great to perform to so many people in new venues.
The tour has gone without a hitch and we are already planning the next one."
