The Hitchin Band has announced the appointment of Nicholas Garman as their new Musical Director.

Looking forward

The Secretary of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) is an examiner for the London College of Music, and told 4BR that he was delighted to take on the role.

"I'm looking forward to working with this talented and committed group of musicians in a number of exciting projects now and in the future."

Experience and energy

Hitchin has risen from Third to the Championship Section in recent years with Band Secretary Mike Thorn adding: "We've found someone in Nicholas who has the experience and energy to match our desire for success, as well as sharing our enjoyment of entertaining our audiences with the highest standard of music."

The new partnership makes it first appearance together in a concert in Hitchin on Saturday 6th July.
