Blidworth delight at Cooper signing

The Blidworth Welfare Band is delighted to welcome Lynden Cooper as their new solo euphonium.

Signing
Lynden Cooper will join up with the band after the Spring Festival weekend in Blackpool

Blidworth Welfare Band has announced the signing of the highly respected euphonium player Lynden Cooper.

He will take on the solo euphonium role with the Midlands Championship Section band after enjoying tenures at the likes of William Davis, Ransomes, Rhodian, Newstead Brass and more recently Unite the Union.

Top flight experience

He brings with him an enviable level of top flight experience as well as a host of individual awards and accolades, and is widely regarded as a teacher and tutor having coached several successful junior brass bands and taken large groups on foreign tours in Holland, France and Germany.

More recently Lynden has been the musical advisor for several local amateur theatre group productions of 'Brassed Off' and is also the MD of current Butlins Mineworkers Second Section Champion Shirland Miners Welfare.

Fantastic quality

Musical Director, Simon Oates told 4BR: "Bringing in a player of Lynden's quality is fantastic for us and I'm really looking forward to working with him when he joins us straight after his final appearance with Unite at the Spring Festival in Blackpool this weekend."
