The 2019 Welsh League Championship series starts this weekend when bands will take part in the Spring Festival event at Willows High School in Cardiff.
The contest on Saturday 11th May (starting at 10.00am) has initiated a pre-draw process to help bands with the running of the event now undertaken by Kapitol Promotions, on behalf of the South East Wales Brass Band Association. The Welsh League comprises three contests.
Own-choice and youth
Over 20 bands, from both sides of the River Severn, will compete in five own-choice sections. The additional Youth Section will perform an own-choice 15-minute entertainment programme. The experienced trio of Paul Holland, Dewi Griffiths and Nigel Seaman will be casting their expert judgement on the bands during the course of the day.
Fantastic day
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Kapitol Promotions hopes that the South Wales & South West brass band movement supports this event by coming to watch a fantastic day of brass band competition in a great venue. There is a cafe serving hot and cold food all day, as well as a licensed bar.
