New music
Speaking about the initiative, John Barber Director of the LMT told 4BR: "We're delighted that Foden's has joined with us to support the development of new music, and that the winning compositions will be premiered by four of the Love Music Trust's partner Youth Bands in Cheshire East.
LMT is extremely proud of the work and opportunities our partner ensembles provide the young people in our borough and hope that this initiative will provide them with new, enjoyable and quality repertoire, whilst giving a platform for composers to have their music performed by four excellent ensembles."

Fully committed
In response, competition coordinator Mark Wilkinson added: "'Foden's is fully committed to youth development and we're delighted that we have been able to enter into a partnership with the LMT to help develop compositional talent.
The competition has attracted worldwide entries and we were hugely encouraged by the number and quality of the entries.
Foden's will now arrange for the shortlisted works to be published and will also make a major announcement about an initiative that will give composers a platform to publish their compositions."
