The Shrewsbury Band recently performed to an audience of over 600 at the magnificent St Chad's Church in Shrewsbury to help raise £6,600 for the 2019 Shropshire Masonic Festival Appeal.
Charity
The appeal is in aid of the Freemasons Grand Charity which supports masonic and non-masonic charities such as hospices, air ambulances, blood bikes, and the RNLI across the country.
Conducted by Steve Pritchard-Jones it commemorated the end of the First World War and saw over 120 performers take part, including the band as well as the Shropshire Girls Choir, Of One Accord Choir, and Shrewsbury Male Voice Choir.
Programme
The band's programme included 'Lest We Forget' (Christopher Bond), 'In Flanders Fields' (Gavin Somerset), 'William Tell' overture, and 'Pomp and Circumstance'.
Band Chairman Phil Tyler told 4BR: "It was a fabulous concert and we are proud to have raised such a fantastic amount for charity."
