The next train arriving will be at Foden's Sandbach Station...

Although brass band fans across the world know exactly where Foden's Band hails from, visitors to Sandbach and its surrounding areas are now also given a clear indication of its most famous musical ambassador.

Train station

In 2017 Sandbach Town Council were responsible for installing town and village signs at several key locations and now new signs are to be found on the roads around the area as well as Sandbach Train Station courtesy of the 'Friends of Sandbach Train Station'.

The volunteers are aiming to make the station a more welcoming and passenger-friendly place, as well as giving vistors an immediate reminder of the fame of their local brass band.

Band Manager Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "Foden's Band has been associated with Sandbach for 117 years and we are extremely proud of our history and association with the area.

We would like to thank the Friends of Sandbach Train Station for arranging these signs that further enhance our status in the town and to all destinations beyond."
