Interview with Cottenham Brass Juniors

4BR Editor Iwan Fox talks to conductor Craig Gallacher and members of Cottenham Brass Juniors at the 2019 National Youth Brass Band Championships

Cottenham
All smiles form the great youngsters of Cottenham Brass Juniors

4BR was at the 2019 National Youth Brass Band Championships at Warwick School, where they caught up with conductor Craig Gallacher and three players, Stuart, David and Noami to find out a bit more about their band which was only formed in 2014.

The band now has over 40 youngsters from schools around its village coming to them once a week with two members of the band already playing with the National Childrens Band of Great Britain and National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

Such has been the success of setting up the band that there are now brass teachers in some local primary schools!

They certainly enjoyed themselves with their performance of music from Jurassic Park to Twiggybank March which gained them a Silver Award.
