4BR has been informed that the musical partnership between Yorkshire Imperial Urquhart Travel Band and Musical Director Simon Gresswell has come to an end.

A spokesperson said: "The band has gone from strength to strength during the last few months and has given extremely musical performances during Simon's tenure. We thank him very much for that and wish him well.

We hope to be able to carry on this progress and we carry a determined attitude to re-establish ourselves as one of the most famous banding brands back at the very highest echelons of brass band music making."

New direction

It was revealed that the band is now looking to hear from prospective candidates who share the same ideals in time for their preparations towards their Senior Cup appearance in Blackpool in May.
