The National Eisteddfod of Wales is hoping that its brass band competitions will attract an excellent turn-out of competitors to its televised contests to be held in Llanrwst in Conway later this year.
Brass Bands have played an important part of the event for well over 140 years, with the various sections broadcast live on the S4C broadcaster.
Telvised
The joint Championship/First Section requires bands to provide a 20 minute programme of a minimum of three items if they are to claim the solid silver Cwpan Catrawd Tiriogaethwyr Sir Y Flint trophy and £750 first prize, whilst there is a £500 first prize in each of the Second, Third and Fourth Sections.
Bands in those sections must provide a 15 minute programme of a minimum of three items.
The contest will be held on the weekend of the 3rd/4th August.
