The Scottish Champion Whitburn is to hold a special 'Open Rehearsal' alongside a quartet of fellow Scottish Championship contenders.
The free event will be held at the Brucefield Church in Whitburn on Friday, March 8th (7.00pm) and will feature the reigning them alongside Unison Kinneil, Selkirk Silver, Whitburn Heartlands and Newland Concert Brass.
Five test-pieces
All five test pieces at this year's event in Perth (on March 9th/10th) will be performed.
Newland Concert Brass (Simon Railton), will play the Fourth Section set-work, 'Stantonbury Festival' by Ray Steadman-Allen with Whitburn Heartlands (Iain Fleming), showcasing the Third Section test-piece, 'First Suite in Eb' by Gustav Holst.
Selkirk Silver (Charlie Farren) will perform 'Rise of the Phoenix' by Darrol Barry, which is to challenge the Second Section contenders, whilst Unison Kinneil (Raymond Tennant) will perform the First Section set-test, 'Symphony of Marches' by Gilbert Vinter.
The evening will be rounded off with Whitburn (Prof Nicholas Childs), playing 'Seascapes' by Ray Steadman-Allen.
