Following a period of uncertainly the Co-operative Funeralcare Band has announced that they have secured funding from Scotmid Co-operative.
The support from Scotmid, which has 177 food stores in the country, will enable the North Lanarkshire band, which will now be known as The cooperation band, to maintain its position as one of Scotland's and the UK's leading elite level ensembles.
Valued role
Speaking about the partnership link Scotmid CEO John Brodie said: "Scotmid are pleased to be able to support The cooperation band.
We understand and acknowledge the valued role they play in their local communities and beyond and are confident the funding will help keep the band playing and winning further recognition in national and international competitions."
Excited
The band's Business Development Manager, Steven Craig added: "We are very excited to be moving into our second century with the announcement of assistance from Scotmid Co-operative.
The commitment from Scotmid will allow the band to prosper and grow over the next few years.
New and exciting projects are being discussed and everyone is looking forward to working with Scotmid for the mutual benefit of both organisations."
