Salvationist Publishing & Supplies (SP&S) has announced a new website that will allow users to purchase both hard copy and digital versions of Salvation Army brass band sheet music.
Working with developers, Dale and Rowan Caffull, SA Music Index (SAMI) will be launched on Friday 1st February, and will incorporate an easy to use search function to allow access to the huge catalogue of Salvation Army brass band titles dating from 1923 to the present day.
Digital developments
Music Promotions Manager for SP&S, Richard Phillips told 4BR: "SP&S has kept up with the growth of digital developments to provide sheet music in accessible formats to all our customers.
Research has shown that many brass bands and players are finding it increasingly useful to be able to purchase sheet music digitally and we want to provide for this alongside traditional hard copies.
SAMI will mean we can provide a much more tailored service for our customers. Or instance, users who purchase digitally will not have to consider delivery time and costs, can buy individual parts as needed, and once purchased the music is never lost."
Titles
4BR was informed that customers will also be able to purchase sheet music from SAMI that includes all brass titles from 2007 onwards, whilst a 'request' function will allow users to seek the titles that they wish to access in digital format.
Sheet music can also be purchased in hard copy from the website and saved to the purchasers account.
Richard continued: "SAMI offers hard copy and digital flexibility, including being the perfect emergency help for those who have forgotten their sheet music on a band job or rehearsal."

Passion
Talking about the new development, Dale Caffull, from Caffull Ltd, told 4BR: "We started SAMI as a way to express our passion for Salvation Army music. It was our hobby and we wanted to provide the Salvation Army Brass Band's answer to google!
Now SAMI has become an information service and resource provider, and we feel this really reflects the mission of SP&S that we are proud to support."
Launch date
The website will be updated to include its new look and functionality on 1st February.
