The City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band has announced the appointment of Christopher Bond as its new resident conductor.
Prepare
A former conductor of Tongwynlais Temperance who he helped prepare for four successive podium finishes at the Welsh Open and four consecutive qualifications to the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall, he is also the Composer in Residence to Cory Band.
His commissions have been performed by the likes of Grimethorpe, Brighouse & Rastrick and Leyland Bands, as well as having several arrangements published for Hal Leonard Music Publishing.

Composer
His work 'Corineus' will be the set-work for the Championship Section of the 2019 National Youth Championships of Great Britain, as well as the Second Section of the West of England Bandsman's Festival in June.
City of Cardiff spokesperson Alex James told 4BR: "We're excited at the prospect of working with Chris in the future as he seeks to bring a fresh approach to our rehearsals, contests and concerts.
