Adjudicators cancel Area test-piece workshop

Cost implications see the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators cancel their January Area test-piece, conducting and percussion workshop.

There will be no Area test-piece workshop run by ABBA in January

Cost implications have meant that the popular Association of Brass Band Adjudicators 'Area Test-Piece Workshop' has been cancelled.

The event was to have been held alongside valuable percussion and conducting sessions in January.

Financial burden

However, a spokesperson for the Association stated that the costs of hosting such a large scale event had become in their words a "financial burden will be too heavy for an independent organisation such as AoBBA, which is funded only by subscription of its membership and without any outside support."

They added: "AoBBA has plans to co-host future workshops and similar events with individual bands and banding associations as they believe they are a valuable resource to players, conductors and all in the brass band community.

We hope this has not inconvenienced any hopeful participants and we wish all bands every success in the 2019 Regional contests.

AoBBA membership will be well represented at all the areas and the adjudicators are looking forward to playing their part in the thrill and intensity of the brass band contest scene."
