World Rankings — December update

Lots of movement in the rankings following Brass in Concert and plenty of other contests but it's hats off to Carlton Main who jump eight places to secure a top ten spot to end 2018.

  It's hats off to Carlton Main who jump eight places to secure a top ten spot to end 2018.

The latest Band Supplies 4barsrest Rankings see a flurry of activity in a month in which National events have been held throughout Europe, as well as the Brass in Concert Championship, at which Cory further cemented its place as the number one band for yet another year.

Valaisia (Switzerland), Willebroek (Belgium), Brass Band Oberösterreich (Austria), Gota (Sweden) and Concord (Denmark) are all celebrating qualification for next year's European Championships and will look forward to adding to their current totals in the new year.

The other events taking place since the last update were:

Scottish Open — won by Whitburn;
Borders Entertainment — won by Annan Town;
YHBBA Contest — won by Westoe;
Scottish Challenge Shield — won by Kingdom Brass;
Leicestershire BBA — won by Ratby Co-operative;
SWBBA Torquay — won by Camborne Town;
SEWBBA Cardiff contest — won by Llwydcoed;
Northern Ireland Brass Band League Festival of Brass — won by Laganvale.
