The respected Scottish conductor Stuart Black will be taking over as the new Musical Director Hawick Saxhorn Band.

Honour

Having gone to the local high school as a youngster Stuart told 4BR that he was delighted to work with them. "It's a real honour to be asked to become Musical Director,"he said.

"We've enjoyed a close association for some time now and they are such a hard working and welcoming organisation who always want to do better and always give 100% on the stage."

Great start

He added: "We've certainly had a great start with two concerts and a contest in the first couple of months together which I've thoroughly enjoyed. I'm really looking forward to what 2019 brings and building on these great foundations."
