Foden's Band has announced that they have engaged the services of Russell Gray to lead them to the 2019 North West Area, British Open and National Finals.
It confirms a partnership that was renewed to memorable effect at the National Championships of Great Britain, where the band reclaimed the title for the first time since 2012.
Russell is a former principal cornet of the band and previously led them as Musical Director from 2002 to 2003.
Fantastic track record
Speaking about the appointment Band Manager Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "Russell has a fantastic track record with Foden's, consisting of four victories and two runner-up finishes out of six contests entered together.
We thoroughly enjoyed a successful working relationship leading up to the Nationals and believe Russell will make a valuable addition to our high profile conducting team."
Pleased
He added: "Michael Fowles, who now enters his twelfth year as our Musical Director, will continue with our day to day direction and we are extremely pleased that Bramwell Tovey has agreed to continue in his role as President as well as becoming our Honorary Artistic Advisor.
The band is presently in discussions with Bramwell over a number of exciting and high profile projects."
