  Why not try the Jingle Bells Challenge and help raise funds for Music for Youth

Boarshurst Band will be helping to raise funds for the Music for Youth charity this Christmas by issuing a 'Jingle Bells Challenge' to bands all over the world.

MD James Garlick told 4BR that the idea came about as band members wanted to support a musical charity this year, and as Music for Youth has played a big part in many of their lives they felt it was time to give something back to an organisation that did so much good.

Life changing

Music for Youth is a national youth arts charity working to provide young people aged 21 and under, across the UK, with free, life-changing performance and progression opportunities, regardless of background or musical style.

How to do it?

Following the amazing success of initiatives such as 'The Ice Bucket Challenge' and 'The Acrobat Challenge' this time it is the 'Jingle Bells Challenge'.

All bands or ensembles or even soloists have to do is as follows:

Record it.
Nominate 3 other people/bands to do the same.
Share it to the Jingle Bells Challenge group on Facebook
Donate as much as you can afford to Music For Youth by following the link on the group page.

We've already received lots of donations and had recordings sent to us from Wales, Manchester, Scotland and as far as AmericaJames Garlick

These have ranged from full band recordings, trumpet quartet, choirs and solo performances. So thank you to everyone that has supported us so far.

If every band supported this challenge just imagine the donation we could give to Music For Youth!"
