Geneva Musical Instruments is holding its first 'Bandroom Masterclass' next month with the renowned jazz trumpet and flugel star Steve Waterman.

The free event is to be held at its Geneva headquarters at Sedgefield Way in Stockton-on-Tees on Saturday 8th December from 1.00pm to 4.00pm (Portrack Interchange Business Park — TS18 2SG), and offers all brass payers the opportunity to learn from one of the very best jazz performers in the world.

Aspects and skills

Steve, will cover aspects such as jazz improvisation and in particular how to adapt daily technical exercises to help develop learning chord sequences and jazz language, breathing, flexibility, rhythm, articulation and range.

Concert performance

In addition, the following day (Sunday 9th December) Steve will be featured in a concert with Durham County Youth Big Band and the Durham Alumni Band at Bishop Auckland Town Hall.

The event takes place at Bishop Auckland Town Hall, starting at 6.00pm.

August 18 • Putney and Wimbledon Band are looking for a percussionist, ideally tune although the ability to play an anvil is an absolute must! We play exciting music with lots of percussion so there's plenty to keep you occupied.
