The 'sold out' signs are being readied for dusting off for Sunday's entertainment at the forthcoming Brass in Concert Championship at Sage Gateshead.

There has been an excellent response from brass band supporters to what promises to be an exciting day of music making featuring 11 world class bands.

Access to the concourse on Sunday 18th November will open at 8.00am, while compere Frank Renton will commence his introductions at 9.20am before the first band takes to the stage at 9.30am.

Great weekend

It promises to be the start of a great climax to a packed weekend of attractions at Sage Gateshead — which includes the inaugural Youth Brass in Concert Championship on Saturday 17th alongside attractions such as a masterclass from trumpet virtuoso Mike Lovatt at the Northern Rock Foundation Hall at 4.00pm.

Speaking to 4BR BiC spokesperson John Woods said: "Once again we've been delighted by the response of our loyal and knowledgeable supporters to what promises to be a superb day of entertainment on Sunday.

The inaugural Youth Brass in Concert event on Saturday also promises to be a brilliant event — and we look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to hear these talented youngsters perform."

Saturday attractions

He added: "All that and the Saturday is rounded off with a tremendous concert with Foden's, Matt Ford and Mike Lovatt presenting a not to be missed 'Sinatra and the Swing Legends' set.

There can't be a better place to hear fantastic brass music being performed anywhere in the world than at Sage Gateshead this weekend."
