Composer Philip Sparke will become only the third British musician to receive the prestigious International Award at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago next month.
First presented in 1992, it honours individuals who contribute to instrumental music education around the world, and sees Philip follow in the footsteps of composer Timothy Reynish and conductor and publisher Geoffrey Brand.
