There is a bright future ahead for Bodmin with their latest signings giving another boost

The ranks of Bodmin Town have been boosted by the arrival of a number of recent signings as the Cornish band looks forward to a busy contesting and concert programme to end off their year.

They recently welcomed Megan and Grace Thomas on bass trombone and repiano respectively after they enjoyed the summer season playing with them in concerts. Meanwhile, Yasmin Stevens comes in on flugel horn and Kevin Brush on Eb tuba.

It's been a solid year for the band, and we are going from strength to strength and have a great sense of optimism for the futureMD, John Maines

Shining stars

MD John Maines told 4BR: "Megan and Grace are two shining stars of the youth banding scene in Cornwall, and we are looking forward to the great contribution they will make, and it's always great to welcome new players of the quality of Kevin and Yasmin who bring a wealth of experience and musicianship.

It's been a solid year for the band, and we are going from strength to strength and have a great sense of optimism for the future."

Bodmin is now gearing up for their appearance at the South West Brass Band Association Annual Championships in Torquay next month.
