Foden's have confirmed the final details for its non-competitive Youth Festival to be held on Sunday 28th October at Sandbach School.
Youth development
Speaking about the event which starts at 10.00am, Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "In 2016 Foden's were successful in an application to Arts Council England for a 'Three Year Strategic Music and Audience Development Plan', which included the provision of a non-competitive Youth Festival.
It provides a further extension to the youth development work that the band is undertaking and will see Stockport Schools, Foden's Junior, Foden's Youth and Lions Junior each provide a 30 minute own-choice programme."
Mark revealed that Foden's have linked up with the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators, with trainee member Jonny Bates providing written comments to assist the bands in their own ongoing development.
Masterclasses
Foden's principal players will also lead masterclasses, before the day will conclude with a gala concert featuring Foden's Band and the youngsters.
In addition to the music making there will be plenty of other attractions on show too — including a number of trade stands, plenty of food and drink and even a magic show by Foden's horn player Nat Martin.
