Four fantastic festive fancies from Pennine Music

Pennine Music has released a quartet of great new festive works — just in time to get them ready for all those Christmas concerts...

Pennine Music
Pennine Music has launched four great new works in time for Christmas

With Christmas concerts just around the corner, Pennine Music has released four great new works which are certain to add a fresh feel to your festive concert programmes.

Two come from the pen of Andi Cook who is now making a real mark as a talented arranger.

Infant Holy

First comes his stunning setting of the traditional Polish tune, 'Infant Holy', which would suit any Christmas occasion.

Warm chords, clever scoring and melodic solo lines are all on show throughout as the piece builds to its powerful climax.

In the Bleak Midwinter

The second is a wonderful flugel solo 'In the Bleak Midwinter', which skilfully brings two popular tunes to the carol together.

With sympathetic scoring throughout, it is not technically demanding on either the band or soloist, but relies on lyrical playing throughout to provide a perfect addition to any festive solo repertoire.

A Spanish Christmas

For something very different though, why not try 'A Spanish Christmas'?

This light-hearted work features three well-known carols with a colorful Iberian flavour: ' Fum, Fum, Fum', 'A la Nanita Nana' and 'Arre Borriquito'.

The music is skilfully arranged to engage all players and draw in your audiences as their feet tap along to the Spanish feel of Christmas.

'Yuletide Rhapsody' — a great treat for audiences with a journey through some festive favourites put together as you've never heard them beforePennine Music

Yuletide Rhapsody

Finally there comes 'Yuletide Rhapsody' — a great treat for audiences with a journey through some festive favourites put together as you've never heard them before.

All sections of the band are spotlighted in a variety of different styles, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
