Ashworth tenure to end at Stalybridge

The experienced David W Ashworth will be seeking new musical challenges after his last concert appearance with the Stalybridge Band next month.

David Ashworth has always enjoyed success on his conducting travels.

The four year musical partnership between David W Ashworth and Stalybridge Band will come to an amicable end following their annual Remembrance Concert next month.

During his tenure Stalybridge claimed victories at the Holme Valley and Rochdale contests (twice) as well as securing a runner-up finish at the 2016 Fourth Section Butlins Mineworkers Championship.

I leave the band in the best manner, amicably and as friends. I wish everyone well for the future, and I will be there, if possible, whenever they need my helpDavid W Ashworth

However, David now feels that now is the time for him to move on. "I've made some great friends, who I will never forget,"he said.

"I leave the band in the best manner, amicably and as friends. I wish everyone well for the future, and I will be there, if possible, whenever they need my help."

4BR understands that a new appointment will be sought from 12th November.
