World Rankings — October update

Plenty of movement in the rankings table following a busy month of contesting with Foden's up to fifth after their stunning win in London last weekend.

The latest Band Supplies — 4barsrest.com World Rankings sees new National Champion band, Foden's, leap back into the top five after its famous victory in Kensington.

Brighouse and Rastrick, Grimethorpe and Fairey are the other upwardly mobile bands in the top ten, while Cory's place as the world's number one contesting band is secure for a remarkable 12th year in succession after it's Open victory and yet another impressive performance in London.

Oldham (Lees) (45), Middleton (143), Barnsley Brass (246) and Stamford (400) also enjoy significant rises after their respective 'National' wins.

Dr. Martin Wainstones Cup — won by Rainford;
Hardraw Scar — won by Wardle Anderson Brass;
Swiss Open — won by Brass Band Berner Oberland;

Queensland State Championships — won by South Brisbane Federal;
SCABA Autumn Contest — won by Friary Guildford;
Fife Charities — won by Kingdom Brass.

Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

January 8 • Following our promotion to the 2nd section we are looking for a percussionist to do a bit of bing bonging on the timps for the regionals in March. We are a lovely band - everyone says so - so please get in touch. Rehearsals Weds from 1930 in Putney.


Mid Rhondda Band

January 6 • Mid Rhondda Band are currently looking for a trombone player and percussionists to join the team. We are a friendly, welcoming 3rd section band working towards competing in the Welsh Area in March. We also have a variety of events booked for 2026.
