The Vale of Glamorgan Band is looking for a new generation of youngsters to sign up and play

The Vale of Glamorgan Band is looking to the future with a special open rehearsal evening aimed at attracting a new generation of young players to take up playing a brass band instrument.

Their senior and training bands are holding the event on Monday 15th October (starting at 6.30pm) at their bandroom at Barry Athletic Club (Old Squash Courts).

Ample opportunity

There will be ample opportunity for youngsters of any age to come along and find out more about which instrument — from soprano to timpani — catches their eye, as well as meet and talk to the senior players about how to start playing and how to become a part of a vibrant community band.

They can then hear the senior outfit in action and ask as many questions as they want! It will be all over by 9.00pm.
