The outstanding service and musicianship of David O'Connor with the Newtongrange Band has been recognised with a special presentation made by the band.

Dave has served the band as a player of distinction — including many years as principal cornet, a committeeman and more latterly as a proud President.

Having retired at the beginning of the year, the current committee and band members voted unanimously that his service should be recognised.

Inscription

And at the recent Grant O'Connor Memorial concert, Harold Wells, the current President, presented Dave with a framed certificate which bore the inscription: "In recognition and appreciation of faithful and loyal service, David O'Connor is appointed an Honorary President of Newtongrange Silver Band."
