New Craze to hit Redruth

Andrew Craze has returned home to take over the conducting duties at Redruth Town.

Andrew Craze returns to Redruth where he started his brass band career.

Redruth Town has announced the appointment of Andrew Craze as its new Musical Director.

It sees a return to the Cornish band for the MD, as he started playing with them as a youngster under the direction of the late David Frost.

Excited

Andrew, who has enjoyed considerable success in recent years with the likes of Norfolk Wherry Brass and City of Norwich, told 4BR: "I'm excited to have the chance to return to where it all started for me. The band has a long and proud history dating back to the 1850's making them one of the oldest in the country.

The current infrastructure and future vision for the band is in line with my thought processes and the way I like to work, so I hope to carry on the great progress that has already been undertaken."

Thanks

Andrew takes over from Musical Director, Keith Anderson who steps aside but will continue as a playing member in the tuba section.

A Band spokesperson told 4BR: "We would like to thank Keith for his leadership and commitment over the last two years and are pleased that he will continue in such a supportive playing role.

We are also delighted to welcome Andrew. We feel he has the ability to get the best out of the players and is just what we are looking for.

The band is now looking forward to the South West Championships at Torquay in November where Andrew will make his debut appearance with us."
