Foden's and Roberts Bakery to lend fund raising help for Lions Youth

A special concert to help Lions Youth Brass get from Sandbach to Switzerland next year for the European Youth Championships will take place later this month.

Switzerland
Switzerland beckons for the youngsters of Lions Youth Brass thanks to the help of Foden's and Roberts Bakery Bands

North West Area champion Foden's will team up with Roberts Bakery Band to help raise funds for the Lions Youth Band's trip to the 2019 European Championships in Montreux.

'From Sandbach to Switzerland' on September 23rd will feature music from John Williams to Hans Zimmer and many other great family favourites as the two senior local contesting outfits offer their support for the talented youngsters.

Qualified

Lions Youth qualified to represent England at the competition after finishing second at the National
Youth Brass Band Championships earlier this year, with the youngsters aged between 14 and 18 eager to have the chance to represent their country despite the daunting financial costs involved.

Musical Director Nigel Birch told 4BR: "Lions is about giving young people great opportunities, so to play with bands of the quality of Roberts and Foden's will be an amazing experience as they work so hard to raise the funds for a brass band trip of a life-time."

£25,000

Players in the Lions organisation range from 6 to 18 years of age, and both the beginner and junior bands will be showcasing their musical prowess before the main event on the night.
Lions have to raise around £25,000 and have already held a series of fund-raising events this year.

The 'From Sandbach to Switzerland' takes place on September 2rd at Northwich Memorial Court.
