Grand Shield champion Hammonds will be showcasing its British Open preparation on 'A Brussels Requiem' by hosting a special test-piece evening of entertainment this weekend.
Boosted by their victory at Blackpool, and just a week before they take to the stage at Symphony Hall under MD Morgan Griffiths, the band will also be joined by their friends from Skelmanthorpe Band and Barnsley Brass.
Cheltenham previews
Skelmanthorpe will perform their up-coming test piece for the Cheltenham First Section National Finals — Benjamin Britten's 'King Arthur — Scenes for Radio Drama', with Barnsley Brass playing the Third Section National Final set-work, 'Episodes for Brass' by Gareth Churcher.
The event is being hosted in conjunction with the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators, with the experienced duo of Mike Kilroy and Dave Ashworth giving valuable feedback.
Trio of test pieces
A Band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted to be able to provide supporters of all three bands the opportunity to hear a trio of highly enjoyable test-pieces first hand ahead of such important competitions."
