Ager to take helm at City of Norwich

The experienced Mark Ager will take over the conducting lead of City of Norwich Band with Cheltenham on the horizon.

City of Norwich, the 2018 London & Southern Counties Third Section regional champion has announced the appointment of the experienced Mark Ager as their new Musical Director.

Success

Recognised as one of the most successful conductors in the region, he led Haverhill Silver for 18 years, winning the First Section Area contest three times (2006, 2011 & 2015), the First Section Butlins Mineworkers title in 2006 and the Crawley Entertainment contest in 2012. He also successfully led Clacton-on-Sea Co-operative Band.

He will combine his new role with that of Musical Director of Soham Comrades Band.

In response Dr Stephen Ashworth, Chairman of City of Norwich Brass added: "This is an exciting time for the band with the upcoming National Final and a full concert diary.

Mark will be building upon a strong platform left by Andrew Craze, and on behalf of the band, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew for all his hard work and commitment, and wish him all the best for his banding future."
