Cornet and euph included in solo competition

One of Europe's leading solo competitions has included entries from cornet and euphonium players for the first time.

CORNET
The competition is now open to corent and euphonium players

Trumpet, cornet, euphonium and tuba players have until the 15th August to send in their entries for the prestigious international solo competition hosted by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and the music centre association, Muzikos idejos, in Vilnius.

For this very first time the cornet and euphonium will be included in what is regarded as one of Europe's foremost solo events, which take place between the 24th to 29th October.

Four finalists

Held every two years, the competition is open to soloists no older than the age of 30 at the time of the event.

The competition is structured into three rounds — with the final round seeing four finalists perform with a leading orchestra.
