The recent 'Legends in Brass' fund raising concert has been hailed as a great success after a great night of brass playing and bartering saw well over £2,000 raised for the Breast Cancer Now charity and the Chatsfield Suite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
Stars
The stars such as Kevin Crockford, Mark Walters, Kevin Holdgate and Mike Kilroy put their solo reputations on the line to boost up their asking prices as part of a fantastic 'Book a Star' auction on the night.
Askern Miners Welfare Club was packed to enjoy their playing, with Stan Lippeatt even prised away from the baton in front of the joint Askern Colliery & Hatfield Band ensemble to join in the fun.
The wonderful event, organised by Hatfield sop star Mike KIlmartin was recorded by Phil Driscoll and Andy Fake from the radio programme 'From the Bandroom', with the services of a host of star players were snapped up as the night raised almost £2,200.
Great time
Mike told 4BR: "We all had a great time, and my thanks got to the players and the starts that came along to perform and offer their services. A number of lucky bands are going to really benefit from their talents.
Everyone was so supportive and two wonderful charities will now benefit from their generosity.
