The respected soprano cornet player Mike Kilmartin will be helping to raise funds for two excellent charities with the second of his 'Legends in Brass' concerts.
Successful
The first took place in 2017 when he responded to the news of a good friend of his being diagnosed with breast cancer and the news of Stephen Sykes battle with lymphoma by organising a hugely successful 'Legends' event that raised funds for 'Boobs and Brass' and the 'Save Stephen Fund'.
Such has been the response that another concert is now planned on Saturday 21st July with the combined forces of the Hatfield and Askern Colliery Band alongside the likes of Mike Kilroy, Kevin Holdgate, Mark Walter and Kevin Crockford amongst others.
It will take place at Askern Miners Welfare Club (Askern — DN6 OAJ) at 7.00pm with a charity raffle and auction. Tickets are just £10 and under 16s go free.
The new event is a follow on and we remain focused on raising funds for charities associated with cancer treatmentMike Kilmartin.
Confidence
Mike told 4BR: "We did well on our first venture, which gave us the confidence to move forward with the concept. The new event is a follow on and we remain focused on raising funds for charities associated with cancer treatment.
This time we are supporting Breast Cancer Now and the Chatsfield Suite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Above all 'Don't Stop Believin' — as together we can beat this terrible disease."
