Swiss planning in the detail for 2019

It already looks like the 2019 European Championships will be run with the efficiency and precision of the best Swiss watches...

  Switzerland has many attractions...

With a display of almost stereotypical efficiency and precision, the Swiss Brass Band Association has told 4BR that planning for the 2019 European Championships in Montreux is already, "defined down to the last detail."

Well ahead

With the announcement already made of the identities of Ludovic Neurohr and Mario Burki as the composers of the Championship and Challenge Section test-pieces, as well as Véronique Gyger as the conductor of the European Youth Brass Band, preparations for the festival are already well ahead of schedule according to spokesperson Régis Gobet.

"We are very happy with the progress that has been made so far,"he said.

"The event will be organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Montreux, represented by the Mayor Laurent Wehrli, under the patronage of Jean-René Fournier, Councillor of States, and this has enabled us to undertake a great deal of the preparation work — defined down to the last detail."

3500 seat

The 'EuroBrass19' festival will take place in Montreux, from 25th to 28th April, based at the magnificent 2m2c Congress Centre, which hosts the annual Swiss National Championships. It will be the fourth time the event has taken place in the city on the banks of Lake Geneva.

The main showpiece contest events and gala concert will take place in the 1500 seat Auditorium Stravinski, whilst a set of other attractions are already in an advanced stage of planning. The Composition Competition will be hosted at the Casino Barrière de Montreux and will feature a leading Swiss top-flight band.

We are honoured to be able to welcome bands, supporters and brass band lovers from all over the world to Montreux in 2019. Everything is ready to make the EuroBrass19 an unforgettable eventSwiss BBA

Régis concluded: "We are honoured to be able to welcome bands, supporters and brass band lovers from all over the world to Montreux in 2019. Everything is ready to make the EuroBrass19 an unforgettable event."
