Conductor Ray Farr is making his critically acclaimed publication 'Introduction to Conducting' available for free.

Although now out of hard back print, Ray has published it in its entirety on his website at: http://www.rayfarr.com/?page_id=208

Basics of the art

The publication and accompanying embedded video is aimed at musicians considering the idea of picking up the baton. It is also of great value for conductors who wish to develop their skills by examining the basics of their art.

As Ray says in his introduction: "The range of skills needed by the modern conductor is enormous"- with the publication covering four aspects: Preparation; Conducting Technique; Rehearsal Techniques and Performance Techniques.

This book on conducting is out of print, but because of public interest I'm making it accessible for free to anyone interested through my websiteRay Farr

Respect the copyright

Ray told 4BR: "This book on conducting is out of print, but because of public interest I'm making it accessible for free to anyone interested through my website.

All I ask is that people respect the copyright if they are to use or copy any passages."
