The European Brass Band Association has confirmed on its website that following a recent fact finding visit to Lithuania, it's delegation will recommend to the EBBA General Meeting that Palanga will be able to host the 2020 European Brass Band Championships.
The visit saw the delegation attend a concert given by Brass Band Willebroek at Palanga Concert Hall — the proposed main venue for the 2020 festival.
Positive feedback
The EBBA website states: "The delegation presented positive feedback on the impact of the acoustic shell solution on the stage in 'Palanga Konsert Sale'.
Under the given circumstances and with the other improvements to the Palanga Concert Hall and facilities, the EBBA Executive Committee now believes that Palanga will be able to host the world's most prestigious brass band contest in 2020.
This will be their recommendation to the EBBA General Meeting later this year."

Future venues
EBBA also confirmed that the Executive Committee is in discussion with Malmo (2021/2022); Innsbruck (2021/2022) and Stavanger 2023 (a letter of intent having been signed in March 2018)
The Executive Committee will present the alternatives for an EBBA General Meeting decision early in the autumn.
The purpose of the meeting will be to approve the host cities, organisers and halls based on a recommendation from the Executive Committee and to give a mandate to finalise respective management contracts.
